Background

A state government trifecta is when one party controls the governorship and both state legislative chambers, while a state government triplex happens when one party controls the Governorship, Attorney General, and Secretary of State positions. The Democratic Party currently maintains both a trifecta and a triplex in Oregon, but several key offices are up for election this year including the AG and SOS.

Market Criteria

Trifecta - one political party holds the Governorship, a majority in the Oregon Senate, and a majority in the Oregon House

Triplex - one political party controls the Governorship, Attorney General, and Secretary of State positions

Market Resolution

The market will resolve YES if:

The Democratic Party maintains a trifecta and triplex after the 2024 General Election

The market will resolve NO if:

An opposing political party gains control of either the AG or SOS positions
An opposing political party gains a majority in the Oregon Senate
An opposing political party gains a majority in the Oregon House

The market will resolve based on certified results from the Oregon Secretary of State.
